Secular spirituality, such as encouraging mindfulness and a regular meditation practice, is one of the multiple facets of Dr. Ozkarahan’s approach to achieving peak emotional health.

Dr. Ozkarahan, a physician and Board-Certified Psychiatrist practicing in NYC, has created her own 7‑day audio meditation series as a tool to connect not just with one’s mind – but with one’s soul - to lower stress levels and improve mental well-being.

 

Each meditation that Dr. Ozkarahan has carefully created, written, and narrated consists of thought-provoking and uplifting content based on cognitive‑behavioral and spiritual principles.

 

The aim of the beginning of each meditation is to encourage introspection and self‑reflection about each day’s topic.

 

Subsequently, the aim of the body of each meditation is to promote unwinding into a nourishing state of relaxation.

 

Along with breathing exercises, the body of each meditation is accompanied by original music composed and sung by musician Emre Yilmaz.

 

The stunningly beautiful music, custom‑made for these meditations, was designed by Dr. Ozkarahan to minimize mind wandering and to engage her listeners via rich instrumentals and soft male vocals.

 

Since Dr. Ozkarahan wants her listeners to relax into the beauty of the music without getting caught up in the meaning of Emre’s lyrics, the musical lyrics sung by the musician are in his and Dr. Ozkarahan’s native language.

 

As a treat, the listener will find that the melody of the music in certain sections matches perfectly with the cadence of the breath work.

 

Because Dr. Ozkarahan believes repetition leads to mastery, this meticulously crafted musical piece is the same relaxation tool in all seven meditations of her series.

The REFLECT meditation series is comprised of 7 meditations – each 15 minutes long and focused on a different emotional or spiritual theme:

Day 1: Coping with Sadness
Day 2: Managing Anxiety
Day 3: Dealing with Uncertainty
Day 4: Working Through Avoidance
Day 5: Prioritizing Self-Care
Day 6: Cultivating Gratitude
Day 7: Gaining Self-Compassion
